1937 Zenith Zepher Tombstone In Excellant Condition

1937 Zenith Zepher Tombstone In Excellant Condition

In my 23 years of collecting zenith radios in zenith's home town of chicago, il this is only the second zepher tombsotne i have ever seen. The other was owned by an arci radio club officer 8-10 years ago. Zenith used the normal zepher tombstone 6s137 cabinet and built it for export by installing the 8 tube 5802 superheterodyne chassis with 4 bands instead of just 3 and will accept any ac line voltage from 110 to 250. The 4 bands are in meters as follows broadcast band 610-138 meters, short wave (low) 2025-750 meters, short waev (med) 171-49.6, short wave (high) 54.4-15.8 meters.

The cabinet is all original and in excellant condition and about 23 high, 18 wide and 13 deep. I just got the set back from ed huether's old radio shoppe after ed went through the entire set and replaced 3 filter capacitors, replaced 15 coupling/by-pass capacitors, replaced 5 open or out of tolerance resistors, cleaned control and switch contacts, and aligned the if and detector transformers. Ed does great work, the radio sounds great, and he is now working on my columbia globe which i will be listing as soon as i get it back. This is a big, heavy set weighing 47# double bxoed in a 24x24x32 box. I will ship ti either usps parcel post, usps priority mail, ups ground, or my favorite federal express ground.

International whatever way we can find accepting this size box. I od not charge for handling but please note i have added $20.00 to partially cover the cost of the double boxing. hTe outer box alone cost $18.59 plus tax. I will be listing some other very nice items from zenith and atwater kent so please do check out my other auctions.

Thanks.
